New for 2024 – Midsummer Place shopping centre will be hosting a monthly market to give small businesses the chance to show off their products to thousands of shoppers – and now’s the time to apply.

The Midsummer Markets will set up on the mall on the first weekend of each month with a selection of traders picked from a portfolio of companies including anything from handmade jewellery to flowers, and from delicious food to organic soaps.

Throughout previous years, Midsummer Place has welcomed many small markets to the centre and businesses have experienced the benefit of significant footfall in a premium shopping centre. Now, we want to add a regular diary date in the calendar for shoppers to anticipate and enjoy,

With a no cost, no obligation approach to registering, Midsummer Place is inviting small businesses to add themselves to the Midsummer Market portfolio. Once registered, they will then be eligible for markets throughout the year*. Business owners can then select their preferred dates, to suit their schedules*.

At Midsummer Place, we recognise that the paperwork involved with markets can be very time consuming and as the old saying goes, "time is money", so we're committed to making our markets as efficient for all parties as possible.

The idea is the majority of the paperwork we'll need from you to participate in our markets will be completed at the point of registration, making individual bookings straightforward and fast.

The registration process works like this:

Step One

  • Complete the application form, telling us a bit about your business. The application form can be found here
  • The Midsummer Place marketing team will be in touch with you by email or telephone within two working days. If your application is successful, they will guide you through step two.

Step Two

  • The marketing team will help set you up on our portal. This will involve uploading your public liability insurance, a risk assessment, method statement and any other documentation that might be relevant to your business or set up. Please don't worry, the team will explain everything fully.
  • Once everything is ready, your profile on the portal will be submitted to our compliance team.
  • When you receive approval from compliance, your registration to the Midsummer Market network will be complete!

Moving forward to manage your network membership, all you will need to do is refresh your documents on the portal when your public liability insurance expires. Or, if your business changes in terms of the products / services you wish to bring to the centre or you would like to change your market set up in terms of the equipment you'll bring in, please contact the Midsummer Place marketing team to discuss further.
