Makewell / ECG

Makewell is an inclusive health and wellbeing hub in Milton Keynes, founded by CEO Jane Lambert (nurse) and her sister (our MD) Sophie McCracken (paramedic) with a passion for patient-first care. We grow our services to meet community needs, working with the NHS and Public Health to improve access. We support the YMCA through the Mental Wealth Project, providing accessible mental health care for young people, helping those who may be vulnerable receive early, tailored support to thrive.

Supporting YMCA

YMCA Milton Keynes is the only local charity dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness. Since 1981, we’ve helped over 10,000 young people build brighter futures here in Milton Keynes. Our state-of-the-art campus and move-on accommodation are purpose-built and supportive homes for up to 242 young adults. Income from our social enterprises – HomeGround Café and our conferencing facilities – helps fund essential services and strengthens our impact within the local community.

We offer a wide range of services that help young people belong, contribute and thrive. By focusing on four key areas, we support, engage, develop and inspire young people to reach their potential:

  • Homes for Young People – Safe accommodation and holistic support providing a fresh start.
  • Employment Support – Opportunities to gain qualifications, skills and employment.
  • Support & Advice – A safe place to talk, access guidance, counselling and mental health services.
  • Youth & Community – Activities and programmes that help young people connect, grow and build brighter futures.
