Honestly, the second the sun starts making even a tiny appearance in the UK, my brain instantly switches into full on holiday mode. So, when Hannah and I decided to head down to Midsummer Place for a little styling day, safe to say I was already dreaming of beaches and gelato.
We headed straight for Hollister Midsummer Place because, let’s be real, they basically own summer fashion. Walking into the shop just smells like holidays, doesn't it?
We were on a mission to find the ultimate holiday outfits that feel effortless but still look amazing, and oh my goodness, we found some absolute gems for your holiday style inspiration.
Safe to say… We left fully convinced we need a holiday immediately.
First up, we wanted something completely effortless. You know when you put something on and it just works? That was this outfit. We paired a classic white cami top with a denim mini skirt, and it just felt so easy.
The denim skirt has that perfect, lived in softness, none of that stiff, uncomfortable fabric where you can't even sit down properly. Paired with the crisp white cami, it's just the ultimate fresh look. It made me feel instantly ready to go exploring a new city. It's simple, but it just looks so put together without trying.
If you are the kind of girl that wants to stroll down the streets and explore with an iced coffee in hand then this is the outfit for you. Get those Instagram snaps effortlessly with an outfit that is simple, but effective. You just know a girly in the queue behind you will ask ‘omg where is that top from, its gorge’.
Two versatile pieces that you could deffo style separately if you wanted to but simple blue jeans with a little brown detail were perfect. I’ll be honest this millennial was intimidated by the ‘low rise’ fit, but the jeans surprised me, SO comfy and cute. The top I was drawn to as soon as I saw it. A classic ruffle ALWAYS delivers and looks a little more dressy without really trying. I can just picture this fit with a cute claw clip, sunglasses on top of your head, the perfect sound of flip flops on the pavement.
Picture this, you found the most instagramable brunch spot and it's on the way to the beach. This top gives such a beachy holiday feel with not only the embroidered details but the open front is giving bikini vibes without being in swimwear. The blue and white is making me see this top on a Greek island somewhere.
Step 1. Go for a cute brunch and take some pics for the ‘gram
Step 2. Walk down to the beach for a cocktail inside a coconut
These shorts are perfect for a walk, they're a stretchy material which means you have a bit of room for that Gyros you’ve been dreaming about and of course the comfort to walk to take in the scenery on the way to the beach. I couldn't think of a better afternoon plan tbh.
Okay, I need a second to talk about this one because I was obsessed. Like, properly obsessed. We picked out this pink striped bikini and matched it with these little pink lounge shorts, and honestly, I didn't expect to love this as much as I did.
It’s giving absolute Barbie on the beach energy in the best way possible.
I don't know what kind of magic they've put into the cut of this beachwear, but this one had me sold instantly. The pink tone is so bright and playful, it gives you that instant confidence boost even before you’ve managed to get a proper tan. If an outfit doesn't make you want to immediately book a flight and run onto the sand, what's the point? This was hands down my favourite look of the day.
For this look, we had to go for something a bit more magical. Enter the white flowing maxi dress.
This dress is just stunning. It has this gorgeous lace detailing at the bottom, and the way it moves when you walk is just beautiful. It feels totally weightless against your skin, which is exactly what you want when the evening air is still warm. It’s elegant but completely effortless at the same time.
You can just picture yourself wearing it while watching the sunset with a cold drink in hand, can't you?
Hollister was DELIVERING on maxi dresses and that's why I had to try two. I picked one up and then Stacey saw a second and I couldn't choose which I preferred. Even after trying on both I could have quite happily left the shop with one of each,
Everyone knows a maxi is an evening staple on holiday so if you haven’t got one yet you know where to go. These two white dresses made me feel so happy, like I wanted to head to the beach at sunset and walk along the sand where the water just about touches your toes. I was like a kid trying on a new dress spinning round the changing room.
I don’t like using the word ‘flatting’ but I think this neckline would be perfect for both a fuller or smaller bust. A slightly thicker strap to cover those inevitable pink shoulders after a day in the sun and a gorgeous elastic band under the bust making this one extra comfy for an A La Carte dinner. Pair it with gold jewelry for the classic, classy last night of the holiday outfit.
We had the absolute best time pulling these together. If you're looking for fresh women's fashion that takes you through perfect day to night outfits, you seriously need to do a little Milton Keynes shopping trip. Head down to Midsummer Place and check out the collection for yourself, your summer wardrobe will definitely thank you for it!
Which of these looks would you wear first?
