Love is officially in the air at Midsummer Place!

This Valentine’s Day after more than 800 visitors took part in a feel-good survey to crown the greatest love songs of all time.

From timeless classics to modern chart-toppers, shoppers were asked to share the tracks that mean the most to them — the songs played at weddings, first dances, road trips and unforgettable moments. The result? A playlist packed with romance, nostalgia and serious sing-along energy.

The Most Mentioned Artists Overall:

  • Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Elvis Presley and Stevie Wonder

The Most Submitted Songs:

  • Love Story — Taylor Swift
  • Shape of You — Ed Sheeran

The full survey playlist spans generations and genres — from the swoon-worthy romance of Can't Help Falling in Love and the timeless charm of My Girl, to modern favourites like Perfect, Halo, and Until I Found You.

Everything from power ballads and Motown classics to indie love anthems made the list — proving that when it comes to love songs, there’s something for everyone.

To celebrate the results, this Saturday (12–3pm), visitors can enjoy a special live DJ set on the Midsummer Place bandstand, as DJ Mel spins the top-voted love songs right in the heart of the centre.

Whether you’re a die-hard Swiftie, a fan of classic soul, or partial to a modern pop anthem, Midsummer Place is turning up the volume on love this weekend.

Also, this Half Term, Midsummer Place invites families and visitors to explore the first of several ‘Naturally Curious’ adventures, starting with the Caterpillar Trail — a free, fun-filled adventure around the centre with fun prize up for grabs!
