Celebrate the Christmas holidays with festive flavours

One of the standout attractions at Midsummer Place is the Great British Fudge Company, housed in an eye-catching red double-decker bus. This charming pop-up is filled with an array of traditional British sweets, from creamy fudges to indulgent chocolate treats.

Whether you’re looking for a sweet gift or a treat for yourself, this festive stall has something for everyone. To make the experience even more enjoyable, there’s a black cab nearby serving hot mulled wine - perfect for warming you up on a chilly winter’s day. The rich, spiced flavour of mulled wine pairs wonderfully with the sweet offerings at the fudge stall, making it a must-try combination.

Next, we explored Leon, which has unveiled a festive menu that perfectly captures the flavours of the season. We tried their Christmas Crackers and Turkey Christmassaman Curry, both of which were exceptional. The Christmas Crackers featured tender turkey marinated in miso and caramelized onion butter, paired with juicy pork stuffing, crispy bacon, and a touch of cranberry chutney. The combination of savoury, sweet, and tangy flavours made for a delicious dish that’s perfect for the holiday season.

The Turkey Christmassaman Curry was another highlight, offering juicy turkey in a rich, coconut-based curry infused with aromatic spices like cardamom, ginger, and lemongrass. Served over brown rice and topped with crispy onions, this dish was flavourful and satisfying - an excellent way to enjoy turkey in a new and exciting form.

To complete the festive experience, we paired these dishes with Leon’s Praline Dream Hot Chocolate and Praline Dream Matcha Latte. Both beverages are incredibly comforting and provide the perfect warm indulgence for the season, leaving you with a cosy, content feeling.

For dessert, Churros Locos offered a festive twist on a classic favourite. Their churros bites are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and drizzled with a blend of bitter cherry and white chocolate sauce. The balance of sweet and tangy flavours from the cherry sauce combined with the creamy, smooth white chocolate makes for a perfect holiday treat. These churros are a delightful indulgence that will leave you craving more!
