Midsummer Place reveals plans to rejuvenate its Boulevard

Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes’ premium shopping centre, has revealed plans for the regeneration of its Boulevard, the first phase in a series of significant and exciting changes.

A planning application was submitted earlier this month to make improvements to the Boulevard that will create a place for shoppers to dine and relax in a vibrant environment. Revealed today Friday 22nd July 2022, plans show natural wooden exterior facias on the new LEON restaurant plus the two adjacent units that will welcome two well-known and loved national brands. The scheme will also see stylish new food ‘cabins’ that present opportunities for small independent or established food operators that will widen the food offering for visitors.

Each of the four cabins will house two different eateries, bringing eight unique street-food-style businesses to the area. These will be occupied by several of Midsummer Place’s existing food operators, plus a number of new businesses joining the centre, and collectively, will offer wide variety and vibrancy of cuisine for visitors. Interested parties are invited to get in touch by contacting kirsty.mcgiff@savillspm.co.uk

Also, within the development plans includes a central area that will offer additional seating and can transform into an event space for performances, live music, dance, theatre, children’s craft activities, community arts and more.

The news of the development will be followed by further announcements of confirmed food operators that have signed agreements to join the scheme. “We have some incredibly exciting new eateries joining Midsummer Place in both the permanent units and the cabins, which will be announced in due course.” Said Shelley Peppard, General Manager at Midsummer Place.

She adds: “Over the past few years, we have welcomed several new eateries to Midsummer Place including, Souv-Lucky Day Greek Gyros, Beirut Cuisine and most recently LEON and we look forward to welcoming more. The new development will become a focal place for people visiting the City Centre and be a welcome addition to the overall offering Midsummer Place has.”

Work is expected to start in the autumn and be completed over two months – just in time for Christmas.

The Boulevard is the first phase of exciting changes to the look and feel of Midsummer Place that Asset Management company, Ellandi are spearheading to repurpose existing stores, bring in new concepts and enhance the overall offering.

Asset Manager from Ellandi, Tom Ellams, said: “Midsummer Place is a premium shopping destination that sits in the heart of one of the fastest growing cities in the UK. It presents an attractive proposition for food, retail and leisure operators that will benefit from the high footfall that Central Milton Keynes offers, plus the continued development in and around the new City.”
