Emily's Star
Nominated charity: Emily's Star
Emily’s Star is a local children’s charity, supporting families in Milton Keynes for over 10 years.
The charity was set up in memory of Emily who passed away aged 26 days from Trisomy 18.
The charity offers support to children with a life limiting or life threatening condition & their families. We support them up until 25 years of age. Our beneficiaries receive support in a number of ways: one to one group sessions, larger group events, a safe community of similar families & have access to a yearly wish.
Emily’s Star also provides support to a number of wards at Milton Keynes Hospital - mainly the neonatal unit - where we provide neonatal boxes which act as an emergency hospital bag in a box, for babies who are born prematurely or underweight, and require the support of the neonatal unit.

Our tree is inspired by our beneficiaries, the tree is full of decorations made by / painted by our registered families, every decoration is different, is colourful, is special & is unique just like the wonderful children we have supported for 10 years.
On the white stars you will find the names of all our registered beneficiaries, on the kraft stars you will find the names of all the children we have supported over the last 10 years who have passed away during this time.
Emily’s Star giving every family their moment to shine.
